TFG application

TFG application

In the following steps is detailed the process for applying and assigning tutors and projects, which consist essentially in that students arrange the project directly with the tutor.

  • At the end of June a list of professors available for tutorizing TFG’s will be published at the offers (catalan) section. For every tutor, there will be an associated sheet showing a series of areas and subjects in which he can direct projects.
  • The students who want to do the TFG the next year, either at fall or spring, they will contact the tutors in the list directly in order to arrange a TFG. A student can do so if he has a minimum of 150 passed credits (in prevision that in January he has 180 so that he can register the TFG, as is specified in the rules). The agreement can be made with any of the tutors in the list.
  • If there is an agreement between student and professor, the tutor has to notify the coordinator. The tutor will be erased from the list in the website once they have reached the maximum number of TFG’s they are commissioned with for the following year. From that moment, the tutor cannot tutorize more TFG’s (though they can do it if they wish to). This way, the list of available professors will be updated as agreements are made.
  • Agreements must be notified to the coordinator by sending the duly completed and signed TFG registration (catalan) form to the e-mail of the Faculty Secretary’s office sec.mat.inf@ub.edu. This document must be signed by the student and the tutor (or tutors) and contains the provisional title of the TFG as well as additional information in the case of double degrees.
  • Agreements can be made until September 16 – included – for the first term, and until February 26 for the second term. (For the year 2020-2021).
  • The student will register the TFG subject at the beginning of September if he wants to pursue the project during the fall term, and at the beginning of February if he wants to do it in the spring term, according to the officially established enrolment dates. If the student does not have a prearranged tutor once he has registered and the arrangement period has passed, an assignation will be forced taking into account, as much as possible, the student’s preferences.
