Yearly Evaluation

Research Plan (First year)
During the academic year in which admission to the program (enrollment) is formalized, the doctoral student must submit a research plan and their personal training plan.

The research plan must include, at a minimum, the following elements:

  • Provisional title of the thesis
  • Objectives and/or hypotheses of the project
  • Theoretical framework
  • Methodology to be used
  • Resources
  • Expected results
  • Relevant bibliography
  • Thesis work plan
  • Proposed timeline for its development
  • When applicable: a data management plan and ethical considerations related to the research.

In the subsequent years, the development of the research plan will be outlined using the corresponding form.

Yearly Evaluation

Each academic year, the doctoral student must submit the following documents:

  • Progress in the research plan (or research plan in the first year)
  • Doctoral activities document (DAD)
  • Evaluation report signed by supervisors

Submission process

Assessment by the Monitoring Committee

A negative assessment of yearly development implies that the student must develop a new research plan, to be submitted to the Academic Committee within a maximum of six months, counting from the communication of negative evaluation. If the Academic Committee does not approve the new research plan, the candidate will be required to permanently withdraw from the doctoral program.
