Grants to support research-life balance

Description and objective

Partial and complementary grants for researchers from the Faculty who need to cover costs arising from the care of minors and/or dependents in their care so that they can participate in research activities (attendance at conferences or schools or research stays). The maximum grant is €500 for travel within Europe and €1000 for travel outside Europe. Priority will be given to applications from nursing mothers (for which travel costs for the baby and, if necessary, a companion can be funded) and to researchers with single-parent families.

The purpose of these grants is to facilitate the research work of researchers responsible for the care of minors and/or dependent persons by covering expenses related to maintaining a work-life balance that other sources of funding for research do not.

Resolution

Grants may be awarded jointly by the Research and Doctoral Committee and the Governing Council of the IMUB. Applications for this type of grant will be evaluated by the Research and Doctoral Committee in accordance with the criteria it establishes. Applications will be assessed and grants awarded three times a year, coinciding with the meetings of the Research and Doctoral Committee. The approximate dates of these meetings are in the first half of April, first half of July and second half of November.
