Pre-enrolment calendar 2025

 

First Period (25 places)
Period of Submission of applications: February 3rd to February 28th, 2025
Publication of the list of eligible students (the eligible applicants will be in the acceptance committee desk): March 19th, 2025
Official decision on Masters’ accepted students: April 8th, 2025
Enrolment: September 2025. 

Second Period (5 places)
Period of Submission of applications: May 12th to June 12th, 2025
Publication of the list of eligible students (the eligible applicants will be in the acceptance committee desk): June 28th 2025
Official decision on Masters’ accepted students (second period): July 11th, 2025
Enrolment: September 2025. 

 

* These places will be allocated among those students who were not selected after the first period as well as those students who submitted their applications during the second period.

Submission of applications:

To complete the pre-enrolment process, applicants must pay the pre-enrolment fee and submit the following documents:

  • Personal identification: DNI, NIF or NIE or PASSPORT
  • A copy of the degree certificate
  • Transcript of grades (provisional or final version).
  • Two-page CV
  • One-page motivational letter.
  • 2 recommendation letters – EMAIL TO: master.fds@ub.edu
  • Proof of proficiency in English. Unless you are a native English speaker or have undertaken a university degree in English, you need to provide evidence of your English proficiency at a B2 level (or above) in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (or its equivalent).

If the application period is open, you need to provide the relevant information and upload your documents in the  online application form : MASTER’S DEGREE IN DATA SCIENCE(when available).

Notes:

Pre-enrolment fee: A pre-enrolment fee of 30,21 euros is charged. Students who apply for more than one master’s degree must pay the fee for each pre-enrolment request. Pre-enrolment requests cannot be processed until this fee has been paid. Fees will only be refunded if the master’s degree in question is suspended.

Reserved places: A maximum of 5% of the new places of the master’s degree are reserved for students who meet the general and specific access requirements and accredit the recognition of a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%.

When admitted, the student must do a first payment for the enrollment (500€), which will be discounted from the total, which must be paid after official enrollment.

According to the prices that are set annually by decree of the Government of Catalonia: all students having diplomas issued outside Spain will have to pay, prior to the enrollment, a fee for a Study of Equivalence of an Academic Degree, which gives access to master’s programs at the UB (218,15€)

Required documentation

  • Personal identification: DNI, NIF or NIE or PASSPORT
  • A copy of the degree certificate or equivalent qualification and an official transcript of records*. In case of admission, foreign degrees that require should be translated and authenticated through diplomatic channels before completing the enrolment. The UB secretariat reviews the documentation submitted by the candidates and publishes it within the established deadlines.
  • Transcript of grades (provisional or final version).
  • Two-page CV.
  • 2 recommendation letters.
  • Proof of proficiency in English. Unless you are a native English speaker or have undertaken a university degree in English, you need to provide evidence of your English proficiency at a B2 level (or above) in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (or its equivalent).

* Undergraduate students not yet having completed their degree at the time of pre-enrollment might be provisionally admitted, but they must have satisfactorily completed their degree for final enrollment (September)

Selection criteria

In the selection process, the following aspects will be evaluated, with the weighting indicated below:

  • Academic transcript from the bachelor’s or pre-EHEA degree (70%)
  • CV (including professional experience) and recommendation letters  (30%)
