RECOGNITION OF CREDITS BETWEEN SIMULTANEOUS DEGREES

Students of the simultaneous degrees of Mathematics-Computes Science, Mathematics-ADE and Mathematics-Physics who want to recognize the subjectes studied in the double degree in each of the simple degrees must send the following completed and signed  FORM   to the SED de Matemàtiques i Informàtica (sec.mat.inf@ub.edu).  

You can submit a single request to recognize the credits in both singles degrees at the same tima (for exemple: if you have already completed the entire dobule degree) or You can submit a request for each degree separately.

IMPORTANT: You cannot apply more than once for each academic year. If you prefer, you can also request it at the end of the double degree.  It has no economic cost.
REST OF RECOGNITION OF CREDITS

 

Credit recognition consists in incorporating credits previously obtained to the record of an official qualification, through education or professional experience.

 

IMPORTANT

The credits corresponding to the Final Degree Project cannot be recognized unless it is done in mobility programs in the same degree.

In accordance with RD 95/2016, it is essential to request the transfer of the file in order to pursue the same studies at another university and to present proof of payment of the transfer fee once the place has been obtained at the UB.

The Transfer of Credit consists of including in the academic file credits obtained in official courses taken at an official University provided that: they have not led to the obtaining of an official title, they have not been subject to recognition and the will is not expressed to simultaneously study. The transferred credits are not taken into account for the purpose of calculating the credits that must be passed to obtain the official degree, nor when calculating the average of the student’s academic record.

 

Application:

The students of the Mathematics and Computer Science degrees that want to recognize/validate subjects done in other university courses and/or credits computable as optional for taking part in institutional activities of the Faculty and UB which are cultural, related to sport, representing students, solidary or cooperative,  professional experience, etc. will have to fill the form for credit recognition and scan the academic documentation or other suited documents via the internet through the website.

STUDENT  GUIDE TO MAKE THE APPLICATION BY THE ONLINE FORM

 

Documentation to attach at the application:

1. In the case of studies started in other Spanish universities:

  • Original personal academic certificate which includes the training obtained, the academic year and the marks with the average grade of the record (*).
  • Teaching plan for the subjects that include the competences, the associated knowledge and the number of credits, hours or weeks per semester or year, with the stamp of the corresponding center of origin.
  • Curriculum of the university of origin where the types of subjects are included: basic, compulsory, optional, etc.

*If it is another center of the UB itself, an academic record will suffice.

2. In the case of studies started at foreign universities:

  • Document certifying the nationality of the applicant issued by the competent authorities of his country, which can be replaced by a certified photocopy of the passport or residence permit in Spain or, in the case of Spanish citizens, by a certified photocopy of the DNI.
  • Original personal academic certificate which includes the training obtained, the academic year and the qualifications.
  • Teaching plan of the subjects passed in which they include the competences, the associated knowledge and the number of credits, of hours or of weeks per semester or year, with the seal of the center of origin.
  • Information on the grading system of the university of origin (minimum grade to pass) and total class hours of the subjects.
  • Plan of studies of origin. The documents must be official originals, issued by the competent authorities and properly legalized and translated. For more information, check the website of the Ministry of Education, Social Policy and Sport of the Spanish Government.The SED will contact you for the delivery of the original documents.
Note: All the documents submitted must be official and issued by the competent authorities, attaching the corresponding sworn translation, provided that the academic documentation is not written in Spanish, Catalan or English. The certificates must be duly legalized according to the provisions established by the competent bodies, except for documentation from member countries of the European Union.

 
3. In case of soliciting academic recognition of institutional activities or activities organized by the Faculty of Mathematics,  can request recognition by uploading the supporting documentation on the platform

Payment and resolution

  • To resolve the recognition / validation it is essential to pay the corresponding fees, which can be done online or at any “La Caixa”, Caixa de Catalunya or Banco de Santander.
  • Once the recognition is resolved, you will have to enroll and pay the % of the credits that the regulations mark.
  • In the case of academic recognition for participation in institutional activities, no fee will be required. This procedure is free and you only have to pay the credits recognized at the time of enrollment  (consult regulations on the limitation of credits to enroll)
  • The student has to recieve the resolution of recognition at their address via certified letter. For this reason it is very important to specify it correctly.
